On the Tribological Properties of RGO–MoS2 Composites Surface Modified by Oleic Acid

To study the effect of oleic acid surface modified RGO/MoS2 composite lubricating additives on friction and wear properties 10# White Oil (10# WO). The influences different concentrations reduction graphene oxide/molybdenum disulfide (RGO–MoS2) (OA-RGO–MoS2) in WO was investigated using a four-ball long-term tester. microscopic morphology, lattice structure, composition element valence prepared material were characterized by scanning electron microscope, Raman spectroscopy, Infrared Spectroscopy, X-ray diffractometer, photoelectron analyzer other instruments. diameter, state scar obtained multifunctional universal tool microscope spectroscopy. In RGO–MoS2 white oil system, when 0.4 wt% is added, anti-friction best, average coefficient (AFC) reduced 21.8%. When 0.2 anti-wear optimal, diameter (AWSD) decreased 12.4%. OA-RGO–MoS2 effects are AFC 33.3%, AWSD 14.1%. Compared with RGO–MoS2, has higher degree graphitization, larger interlayer spacing, lower layered accumulation, MoS2 load, weaker thermal stability. Both have good at low concentrations, more prominent after being acid. Analysis mechanism shows that protective film containing iron, oxygen, molybdenum, carbon, sulfur formed through adsorption or tribochemical reaction during process, which improves lubrication plays role reducing anti-wear.
